CCO Announcements November 17th 2023

NOVEMBER 17, 2023

The 519 ballroom is not available to us on Monday as the Centre is hosting a Trans Day of Remembrance ceremony.

Our rehearsal will be at Holy Name Parish, 71 Gough Avenue, corner of Gough and Danforth, one block west of the Pape subway station.

Time: 7:30 to 9:30. Doors open at 7:00. Use the side door on Gough.

Both of our soloists, Rebecca Gray and Fay Slift, will be rehearsing with us that night.

Please do not attend the rehearsal if you are unwell, and wear a mask for your own protection if you so chose. To protect others, if you have recently had cold, flu, or COVID, please wear a mask. The Door Volunteers have free masks.

Tickets for the December 9 holiday concert can be purchased on-line at

For the first time in a year, we have run out of the concert posters! Thank you to everyone who is posting them. There will be more Posters available at the rehearsal. If you have a colour printer, you can print your own from the attached copy. Please note, the posters do not have ticket prices on them - add “$20 for adults, $12 for students” in magic marker on the posters you will be posting.

Helen Li is distributing tickets and keeping track of ticket sales and has tickets available at the rehearsals. East End United is a larger concert venue than we have committed to in the past - lots of room for new audience members. Members are expected to sell at least two tickets.

The Fundraising Committee has planned a couple of fundraising activities. Before the concert starts and at intermission there will be a 50/50 raffle; tickets will be $5 for one, $10 for 3, and $25 for an “arm’s length”. The winner of 50% of the proceeds will be announced with a ticket draw at the end of the concert.

Our soloist, Fay Slift, has agreed to make herself available after her performance, during the intermission, for photographs with audience members and musicians. Selfies will be $10, more formal photos in front of a backdrop will be $20.

Finally, during intermission, we will be offering holiday cookies - the ones our members have donated - and bottles of water. If you can, please bring some cookies - homemade or purchased will all be appreciated.

Please suggest to your friends and family that they come equipped with some cash for these fundraising activities. And surely you want to have a photo with Fay yourself? We do not have capacity for credit or debit purchases. There will be donation jars around, and a Donation Table where receipts can be issued for gifts over $20.00.

If you are not performing and can volunteer at the concert, or if you know anyone who can volunteer, please contact Volunteer Co-ordinator, Robert Mansell, at With so much going on, we need more than our usual number of volunteers.
