Counterpoint Community Orchestra is a community orchestra in Toronto, Canada. Founded in 1984, it was the first Lesbian/Gay/Gay-Positive orchestra in the world. Counterpoint has a 28 year tradition of orchestral performances in the downtown Toronto community.

Saturday March 3, 2012 — Charles Dickens Tribute Concert

Counterpoint Community Orchestra collaborates with the Toronto Branch of the Dickens Fellowship in their 2012 celebration of the 200th anniversary of the birth of Charles Dickens. We will present a concert of Dickens-themed music featuring his favorite music, plus pieces from Oliver, and pieces written in 1812, the year of his birth. The programme will include Overture di ballo by Sullivan, a medley from Oliver, Mozart's Marten Aller Arten with coloratura Sinead Sugrue, and Beethoven's Seventh Symphony.
