CCO ANNOUNCEMENTS JUNE 9 2025

A few things as we move out of CCO season 41, and into CCO season 42.

I.              JUNE 7 CONCERT FEEDBACK

Trust everyone has been receiving lots of kudos for a job well done on Saturday night. After a great deal of work, the CCO again offered its audience a lovely, satisfying evening of good music and pleasant company. Many thanks to our set-up crew, Chris and Ron and their helpers, for dealing with such aplomb with the unexpected, last-minute change to the stage in the Eastminster Sanctuary. The set-up they figured out worked really well. A report on the number of concert tickets sold, and the amount of raffle money and donations received will follow in a few days. Thank you too to all the musicians who contributed refreshments for the Intermission.

We received this congratulatory email from our clarinet soloist, Peter Stoll:

“Please pass on my huge congratulations to all the members of the orchestra. As a professional symphonic player myself, I know the work and preparation necessary to make it successfully through a full main series program. I was really impressed with how well prepared everyone was, and the concentration and endurance to get through that huge symphony. And the Gladwell concerto went brilliantly; all the transitions were super-solid. I enjoyed hearing the Rossini Overture from the green room, it was also very convincing, wind solos and low string exposed passages in particular.

Many thanks for letting me play with you all, on both clarinet and bass clarinet! Hope to do so again,

Peter"

II.            MEMBERS’ ZOOM CALL JUNE 16, 2025, 7:30PM

The Board is inviting the CCO members to a Zoom call meeting on June 16, 2025, at 7:30pm. Zoom invitation to follow at the end of the week.

The new season’s rehearsals will start on September 15, 2025, at The 519, with our holiday concert on December 6, 2025, at Eastminster Church.

At the upcoming meeting, the Board will be announcing the identity of the first Guest Conductor for the holiday concert, discussing how the search process will go over the next many months, revealing the results of the Members’ Survey, and confirming the details of the Playing in the Park series for this summer. And perhaps Other Business. The meeting will last about an hour to an hour and a half, and is scheduled on a Monday at 7:30 in the hope that most members will be available to attend.
