HAPPY THANKSGIVING, and a reminder there is no rehearsal this coming Monday, October 10. Thank you to all the members who attended a very productive Annual General Meeting last Monday evening.

 1. NEW BOARD

At the AGM, the members confirmed the appointment of one interim Director, and elected two new Directors. The CCO’s new Board of Directors is: David Brownstone, Margaret Juryn, Tetsuya Kobayashi, Andrew Lam, Elizabeth Mitchell, Daniel Payne, and Holly Price. The Directors will appoint Officers at the upcoming Board meeting. The new Board is meeting this Wednesday, October 12, at 7:00pm. Members who are interested are invited to attend. 2. MEMBERSHIP FORMS AND FEES

The new CCO season has started. Fees became due effective October 4, 2022, for the fiscal year July 31, 2022 to August 1, 2023. If you have not already done so, and would like to join the CCO, please complete an Application for Membership and a Risk Acknowledgment form, as attached, and pay membership fees. A volunteer will collect forms and fees at the rehearsals for the next several weeks. Fees at the rehearsals must be either cash or cheque. Electronic payments to the CCO are not yet accepted. Fees for the year are $100. Should you need a reduction or a waiver of fees, please make a request to the Board for that concession, either by email to any of the Directors or to emitchell1727@gmail.com so that the Board may consider your request.

3. MORE MUSIC FOR DECEMBER 10 CONCERT

Conductor Andrew Chung has added Schumann’s Symphony No 1- (Spring Symphony)

We will perform the Schumann Spring Symphony at the CCO’s March concert, not in December. However, it is a major piece. Accordingly, we will rehearse it on occasion starting in late October. Musicians are asked to print their parts https://imslp.org/wiki/Symphony_No.1%2C_Op.38_(Schumann%2C_Robert).

The rehearsal on October 17 will be all Mozart. Our soprano and colleague, Rebecca Gray, will join us for the last half of the rehearsal.

The links to the Mozart pieces were circulated previously. Musicians are asked to bring their parts:

(i) Aria from the Messiah - “Rejoice greatly, o daughter of Zion”, Handel https://imslp.org/wiki/Messiah,_HWV_56_(Handel,_George_Frideric) and

(ii) Exsultate, jubilate, K.165/158a (Mozart, Wolfgang Amadeus) - IMSLP: Free Sheet Music PDF Download
