Just eight days until “Romantic Echoes”. Happy practicing!
I. REMINDERS MARCH 22 DRESS AND MARCH 23 CONCERT
(i) Good time to post and circulate your concert reminders and posters. Poster attached. If Eastminster’s lit sign on the Danforth is showing our ad, we’ll take a group photo after the Dress Rehearsal on March 22.
(ii) Dress Rehearsal - from 7:00 until 10:00pm on Friday March 22. The Green Room will be available starting at 6:00 - remember your music stand. (By the way, if you forgot a stand at December’s concert, please email emitchell1727@gmail.com. We’ll leave the sanctuary set up overnight.
(iii) Tour of the Anniversary Reception Hall - on June 15, there will be a post-concert reception in the Unitarian Church, attached to Eastminster. You can pop in to view the space the evening of the Dress Rehearsal. If you are curious or will be involved in setting up the reception space in June, please check it out between 6:00 and 6:45pm on March 22.
(iv) Concert Refreshments - cookies and water at the concert intermission. We are asking the musicians to please donate some cookies; we did this at the holiday concert and the audience expressed their thanks by generously donating to the CCO. There will be volunteers to accept your cookies when you arrive. If you want your cookie tin back, please put your name on the bottom of it. We are delighted that both Whiskful Thinking Bakery and Craig’s Cookies are contributing again as well. If you ever need a cookie, hope you get it from these Village businesses that are supporting the CCO.
(v) 50/50 Draw - this raffle was also a successful fundraiser at the holiday concert - our lucky winner took home $600! Hope you will try your own luck at the upcoming concert plus encourage your friends and family to buy tickets. Tickets are 1 for $5.00, 3 for $10, and $20 for an arm’s length. Cash only.
(vi) The volunteer photographer we hoped would be taking casual photos of the musicians has cancelled. If you can, please take more photos than you usually would getting ready, with your friends, etc., and post them on the CCO website afterward to supplement our photo collection for the anniversary concert.
(vii) Two Volunteers needed - the Volunteer Co-Ordinator could use 2 more volunteers at the concert, to usher, give out programmes, etc. If you know someone, please have the volunteer email emitchell1727@gmail.com.

Rehearsal time at The 519 is tight, and we keep the verbal announcements to a minimum. However, it’s nice to hear about the gigs other musicians are performing.
If you personally are performing in a concert or gig you would like others to know about, you can:
(i) post it in the Musicians’ Only section of the CCO website;(ii) put the poster or a note on the table at the door at the rehearsals; (iii) send me a short note and I’ll post the details in the CCO ANNOUNCEMENTS.
Here are the first two such notices:
(a) March 16 - Jeff Buchyns (tromb.) invites you to hear the North York Concert Orchestra (Elgar Cello Concerto and Brahms Symphony #4), 8:00pm Fairview Library Theatre, 35 Fairview Drive (Sheppard and Don Mills) nyco.ca;
(b) March 21 - Katherine Brown (trumpet) invites you to hear some swing music at Grossman’s Tavern on Spadina just south of College, east side, from 7:00 to 9:00pm. Free but contributions are encouraged.
